Australia's Last Bow: World Cup's Maty Ryan

by Rexswimguy

Yesterday, as you undoubtedly know, the much-ballyhooed confrontation between USA and Portugal ended in a draw.  Now today, we move on to the final rounds in Group Stage competition, with even more at stake. (!)

2014 FIFA World Cup - Group Stage
(Eastern Time)
Sunday, June 22
Belgium 1, Russia 0
Algeria 4, South Korea 2
United States 2, Portugal 2
Monday, June 23
Group B:
11:30 AM: Netherlands (2-0-0) vs. Chile (2-0-0), ESPN
11:30 AM: Australia (0-0-2) vs. Spain (0-0-2), ESPN2
Group A:
3:30 PM: Croatia (1-0-1) vs. Mexico (1-1-0), ESPN
3:30 PM: Cameroon (0-0-2) vs. Brazil (1-1-0), ESPN2
While there is much at stake in Group A today, there is actually little at stake in Group B, as Australia and Spain have already been eliminated from contention.  In fact, today is your very last opportunity to see those two teams in action (boo hoo).
... plus, Australia goalkeeper #1 Maty Ryan, unable to stop a Netherlands goal earlier in the competition.  Better luck in four years!
Name: Maty Ryan
Date of Birth: April 8, 1992 (Aries)
Hometown: Plumpton, Australia
Height/Weight: 5'10"/161 lbs
Teams: Club Brugge, Australia National Team
Position: Goalkeeper
