Italy Beach Volleyball: Alex Ranghieri

Alex Ranghieri  was born on June 18, 1987 in Pordenone, Italy.  He is an Italian volleyball player, who in recent years has been very successful on the beach volleyball circuit.

Ranghieri played Indoor Volleyball as a member of  various Italian clubs from 2004-2013. In his youth he was active in his native Cordenons and Sisley Volley Club. From 2006 to 2009, he played as an external attacker in the B Series for Robur Ravenna. Then Ranghieri began playing in the A 2 series for Marcegaglia Ravenna and other clubs.

Since 2010 Ranghieri is also active in beach volleyball, and he seems to have found his niche.  At the FIVB World Tour, he has partnered with Andrea Tomatis ,  Matteo Varnier and Matteo Cecchini, to lesser or greater success.  With Marco Caminati Ranghieri succeeded in Lucerne Open the first win on the FIVB World Tour. With Adrian Carambula he finished the Poreč Major third place.  He has continued to do well on the world stage, most recently stably partnering with Adrian Carambula.

He currently lives in Rome, when he is not traveling to compete.
