NFL Draft: Chicago!

It's finally here, sportsfans.  The 2015 NFL Draft starts today!  (I know you're gonna to miss the non-stop rumor mill when it's all over.)

And, one dark horse you might want to watch for in this year's draft is running back Tyler Varga of Yale.  Having played in the Ivy League, he didn't get a lot of publicity during the regular season, but he more than made up for that at the post-season Senior Bowl.  Not only was he selected to be the team captain, but he also scored two, fourth-quarter touchdowns to seal the win.  Any other questions?
Name: Tyler Varga
Date of Birth: September 24, 1993 (Libra)
Hometown: Kitchener, Ontario, Canada
Height/Weight: 5'11"/224 lbs
College: Yale (2015)
Position: Running Back

Swimming Worlds Wrap up by Rexswimguy

Before we get prepped for all the great aquatics sports events coming our way this summer, it wouldn't hurt to do a final wrap on last year's world swimming championships in December.

And, the exciting news coming out of that event was that three world records were set ... two by Florent Manaudou of France and one by Markus Deibler of Germany.

The less-than-exciting news was that Markus Deibler subsequently made a decision to retire from competitive swimming (aargh).  He will be sorely missed!

P.S. You can catch a video of Markus informally chatting about his prowess in the pool here.

... Markus Deibler, the man the legend:

Spring Football with Danny Woodhead

by Rexswimguy:

The five major NCAA conferences don't have a total monopoly on football, and some of the smaller programs do produce some of our top NFL players.

And, one of those programs would have to be Chadron State in Nebraska, who can, for example, lay claim to star running back Danny Woodhead of the Chargers.
