Sport Sunday:

In Italy, today is the day of the great Derby.  Italy has many Derbies, today's is considered by many the greatest:  the vicious Soccer competition between Iuventus and Torino.  For over 50 years they have been vicious rivals, Torino has double the number of wins in the series.

Chad Le Clos  and Michael Phelps
In Windsor, Canada, The FINA World Swimming Championships have reached their final exciting day.  This Championship is commonly known as the "Short Course Worlds", and is for swimming only, and is held every two years. The events are contested in a 25-meter pool so is called a "short course."

In Japan, the FIFA Club World Cup is being contested.  While you were sleeping the quarterfinals were being played.

In the USA:

In NCAA Football, Louisville Quarterback Lamar Jackson has been awarded the Heisman Trophy.  This is Louisville's first honoree. Army beat Navy, overcoming what has been a severe win deficit in recent years.   The NCAA College Soccer finals are contested today in Houston, Texas.  Wake Forest vs. Stanford will play in the NCAA College Cup. The Stanford Cardinal attempt to repeat as champs, a feat last accomplished by Virginia in 2003-04. Oh yes, and NFL, choose your favorite.

Yoann Gourcuff

In England's Premier League:  Four of the Premier League’s top six are in action on Sunday. Chelsea would go top with a win, while the Tottenham Hotspur could climb as high as third, if Liverpool fails to go within a point of Arsenal for second. Manchester United, on the other hand, is falling away from the top-five pack with each passing week.
