Diver Illya Kvasha (Ukraine)

Illya Kvasha is an Ukrainian diver.  When he was 8 years old, he was brought to the pool to learn swimming and diving.  He was rejected, at first, because he did not fit in, he was taller and thinner than the other kids.  His second coach is the one who made him excel.

He was 20 when he won the bronze medal in the 3 m spring synchro along with Oleksiy Prygorov in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Kvasha is also a multiple European Champion, most recently this month, taking the gold medal in the one metre springboard competition.

We look forward to seeing what he can do in the Olympics in a few months.

Best wishes Illya!
